About Us

FOG Studio is a full-service architectural firm founded in 2012. Our mission is to provide the very best service to each client, on each project. We tailor our scheduling so that every aspect of the design process is attended to by the partners: from research and design, to consultant coordination and BIM modeling for construction documentation, up through permitting and full construction administration. We believe that our model optimizes the success of each project, provides our clients the very best value, and in the years since founding our firm, we’ve been fortunate to prove this out on many exciting and rewarding projects.

FOG Studio is certified as a Small Business (Micro) by the State of California. An equal male / female partnership, we strive to create opportunities and enable social justice through design - and are proud to donate a significant percentage of our yearly billable hours to pro bono design work for local education, arts and social-justice nonprofit organizations.

Fog is a state of change.  The act of condensing and dispersing with the movement of air.  A figurative limbo between the known and the unknown.  A state of ephemeral uncertainty.  Or maybe a state of lucid awareness of the limit of one's own vision.

To us, fog is a symbol of where we're heading.  It's an opportunity to try something new, to be more mindful and efficient in what we choose to do.  It's an opportunity to take a calculated risk, to partner with a new friend or to solve a problem and build something with lasting value.  Fog is the potential we see in the people and places around us.  And so we move through the fog with confidence knowing we head toward something good; we move through the fog toward the opportunity to do something better than we did yesterday.
